Concussion Guidelines

The AFL has released updated guidelines on the Management of Sport-Related Concussion in Australian Football at all levels of the game outside AFL and AFLW.

The South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) has adopted the AFL Concussion guidelines and Return to Play Protocols.

Details about these guidelines and protocols are available on the SMJFL website: https://www.smjfl.com.au/concussion-resources

The Caulfield Bears Junior Football Club has developed supporting documentation for participants to aid in the understanding of concussion management.  These documents are not intended to replace the guidelines developed by the AFL or SMJFL but provide important information on the Clubs reporting requirements and expectations of players and guardians.

At all times, suspected or diagnosed concussion should be managed in consultation with a medical practitioner.
